In the heart of Paris, amidst the grandeur of the Hotel de Crillon, Justin and Alexis embarked on a journey of love and opulence, culminating in a fairy-tale wedding on the historic Marie Antoinette terrace. Built in 1758 by King Louis XV, the palace stands as a testament to an era of unparalleled luxury, it served as the perfect backdrop for their dream wedding.
Choosing the perfect gown was a serendipitous moment for Alexis, who was captivated by the ethereal designs of Australian designer KYHA. The delicate pleats of the Yanna gown perfectly captured her vision of timeless elegance, beautifully accentuated by custom jewelry from Ultimate Diamond, New York. Alexis’ decision to wear three wedding dresses reflected the elegance and sophistication of their Parisian celebration, each dress a stunning embodiment of her style and the significance of the occasion.
The first look was the couple’s most memorable moment of their wedding day. The bride tells us about it; “Upon proposing a first look to Justin, I was met with immense reluctance. Fast forward to our wedding day where Justin stood on the cobblestone streets of Place de la Concorde with a gleaming smile, anxiously awaiting the first look. As he waited for our photographer, Claire’s, cue to turn around he vividly recalls hearing the crinkling of Alexis’ wedding dress sweeping across the street and then something unexpected… a giggle, the giggle that made him fall in love four years ago with his soon to be wife. As Justin turned around and we saw each other for the first time, his jaw dropped and his eyes beamed with excitement.
Securing the Marie Antoinette Suite for their reception and with an intimate guest list of fewer than 30, the couple delighted in the opportunity to exchange their vows on the Hotel terrace, overlooking the breathtaking vistas of Paris.
Directly after their intimate ceremony on the terrace at The Crillon, the space was cleared so that they could have some gorgeous portraits together in front of their wedding decor. Afterward, I took their family and friends portraits before we continued with some more bride and groom pictures in and around the hotel.
The final reception decor look was truly iconic, as the wedding reception unfolded in the historic Marie Antoinette Suite, setting the stage for a truly memorable evening. The ornate salon, with its tapestries and high ceilings, provided a fairy-tale setting overlooking the grandeur of Place de la Concorde.
In keeping with the black, white, and red theme, the table was adorned with single red roses placed in individual vases, creating a striking contrast against the black chairs. This meticulous attention to detail added an extra layer of elegance to the already enchanting ambiance, making it an evening to remember for all who attended.
Despite facing resistance during the planning process, the couple remained steadfast in their creative vision and aesthetic goals for their wedding reception dinner. They chose to adorn the tables with red roses, which became their favorite aesthetic of the day.
Paris is gorgeous and huge! I could photograph couples around Paris for a whole week and still have more new and beautiful backdrops to photograph. With Alexis and Justin, we narrowed down a few of our favorite locations that would be great to photograph from sunset to City of Light.
