You will find the Shangri-la is nestled in one of Paris’s most luxurious districts, having been constructed by royalty in 1896 for Prince Roland Bonaparte and his family. Retaining its royal elegance and class the Shangri-la has an impressive facade, along with grand interiors plated in gold.
Having one of Paris’s best Eiffel Tower views, with 100 rooms and suites, three restaurants, two of which are Michelin-starred, one Bar, and four historical rooms and reception rooms, it’s not hard to see why this hotel is popular with couples wanting to tie the knot.
I loved photographing this emotional and sweet moment between the bride and her father.
The bride and groom chose the Grand Salon (the ballroom) of the Shangri-la for their first look.
On their wedding day, we stayed in the Hotel Shangri-la for their bride and groom portraits and we were very spoilt for choice as you can see. Every corner and area of the hotel provides an incredible backdrop for this gorgeous couple.
Our groom Alex said “Allie loves how authentically French the venue is. She always prefers a classy and classic vibe with a grandiose, Parisian feel. We fell in love with the grand salon and knew that is where we wanted our ceremony, we also love the courtyard and felt this venue is perfect for having a good mix of indoor and outdoor photos”.
Allie & Alex chose to say their vows in Le Grand Salon, which is decorated in the Louis XIV style, this room features an immense white marble fireplace, decorated with bronze and a trumeaux mirror, as well as crystal chandeliers. The light coming in from the large gold gilded windows gave the bride and groom an ethereal glow.
After the ceremony, the couple were greeted by their loved ones who excitedly waited to share their congratulations.
We took their formal family and friends wedding portraits in a gorgeous room next door to the grand salon during the cocktail hour.
Allie & Alex really wanted to make a statement so they decided to have some fun pictures taken with a vintage Rolls Royce, which is the epitome of class. We had so much fun with Allie and Alex, which is reflected in the pictures.
For the reception dinner and after-party, the couple chose Le Salon Roland Bonaparte to carry on their festivities. This is a room that is 250 square meters with large frescos painted on the ceiling. Giving the room a perfect mix of modernity and history. After speeches from their nearest and dearest, the couple cut their cake. A cake which was made by the iconic Ladurée, famous for its historic french tea rooms.
Just before the dancing begins the couple head downstairs under an archway of sparklers, creating a magical image. At the end of the night, friends and family danced to all of the couple’s favourite tracks making the perfect end to a perfect day.
